Tucked away in the corner of northwest Bedfordshire is one of the most famous racetracks in the world – Santa Pod Raceway. Santa Pod has earned the reputation as the home of European Drag Racing but this time it’s all about drifting. Drifting refers to a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels through turns, while preserving vehicle control and a high exit speed. In other words you’ll be going sideways around bends with your tyres smoking! Being able to control a powerslide through corners is fantastic fun. Learning from professional drivers, who actually compete in the European championships, and using cars modified specifically for drifting gives you a true taste of what this sport is all about. It’s not all about speed and lap times, it’s about taking a car beyond it’s limit of grip, holding it at the biggest angle possible and repeating this through every corner with style. This isn’t for the faint hearted though. Trying to control a rear wheel drive car, with upwards of 250bhp, around a track requires a lot of concentration. 99 percent of the time you’ll be travelling sideways and looking out of the side windows to see where you’re heading with your mirrors full of tyre smoke!

The Rally Silver Experience gives you the chance to learn a unique set of driving skills required for rally driving. Your highly trained instructor will teach you how to master driving on both tarmac and gravel.

The cars you will be driving give you the chance to experience rear wheel drive, front wheel drive and the ultimate in grip four wheel drive.

Take to the track and tackle chicanes and hairpins in the impressive Subaru and compare it to the equally impressive Mitsubishi. You’ll get to find out why these cars dominated the World Rally Championship for many years. Then try to master car control by learning sliding, and oversteer on a specially designed gravel stage in a Peugeot 106.

Driving an F1-style single-seater racing car is unlike anything else. You’re strapped into the open cockpit with your legs stretched out into the nose of the car, the steering wheel in front of you and the gearstick between your legs. You’re only a couple of inches off the ground and you’ll know it; you can feel every bump and vibration and you’ll have to fight not to oversteer, as your super-responsive car reacts to every tiny adjustment you make. This is driving at its limits, as done by the pros; just you and the car. Your experience starts with a briefing about safety and track craft. Next you’ll warm up with three laps of Knockhill’s 1.3-mile championship racetrack in a Seat Ibiza Cupra to hone your circuit driving technique, followed by two demonstration laps by your instructor in a Seat Leon. Then you’ll strap in to a Honda Blackbird single-seater, driving solo for seven laps. There’s a trophy for the best driver of the day, and everyone receives a certificate.

From basic handbrake turns to awesome power-wheelies, stunt car driving promises you a very different day out and one you won’t forget. Kick off with a safety briefing before being split into groups of six. Then enjoy a variety of fantastic car stunt activities throughout the day. Try starring in your own high-speed shootout, driving on two wheels in a specially adapted car and getting to grips with two cars welded together, one slapped on top of the other in Double Decker Chaos (yes, it’s as crazy as it sounds!). Learn how to make the ultimate quick getaway in the Car Chase J-Turn Challenge and find out if you’ve got the nerve to attempt the Herbie Wheelie experience. Lunch and refreshments are included and will help keep your energy levels up. Conclude your day with prizes for the best drivers and certificates for all budding stunt drivers. What a chance to compare the Porsche 911, the Subaru Impreza and the Lamborghini Gallardo to the legendary Ferrari 360. The Porsche 911 is a 40 year old idea but one of the best handling cars on the road today. Lamborghini’s Gallardo may be regarded as the baby Lambo but it sure punches well above it’s weight. Finally, the Ferrari 360. It’s 3.6 litre V8 engine will power the brave from 0-60mph in just 4.6 seconds, the prancing horse on the bonnet says it all. With its impressive rallying history the Subaru Impreza and its boost of the turbocharger will force you back into your seat

On arrival you will be given a safety briefing and then the action will begin! You will be driven around the circuit by your instructor for familiarisation laps which is typically in a Subaru Impreza WRX Sti. Then it’s your turn to take to the wheel of not one, but three great supercars and the notorious Subaru Impreza. This will be followed by a debrief and presentation of certificates.

Fancy driving something really big? Well, this is your chance to have a driving lesson in a massive articulated juggernaut – this’ll be a real test of strength and determination to see if you can handle this giant. This is a real driving challenge, because this articulated lorry is probably the largest thing you’re ever going to drive!

This is a superb chance to take the wheel of a mighty fifty five foot long articulated lorry and trailer on a huge area of private tarmac roads, with road markings, roundabouts, T-junctions, slalom courses etc. There is expert friendly tuition from instructors who will take you through a structured course. When you come to reversing – now that’s a challenge! There’s also a 16-speed splitter gearbox to master.

You will share your driving with other drivers and your friends and family may be able to watch and video your course from inside the cab depending on numbers.
